What can theater mean for people who are stranded in a nursing home? Can you create a meaningful experience in an hour? How can you include everyone in the process? In this workshop Jaap Oostra shares his findings in the field.
If you want to give playback theater workshops to other groups, say children, or people with disabilities, this workshop might also be interesting for you.
Jaap Oostra graduated in 1991 from the Amsterdam Theaterschool. As an actor he joined playback group Wordt Vervolgd in 2004, and he is leading rehearsels for many years now. His teachers in playback are the members of Wordt Vervolgd, Jonathan Fox, Jo Salas, Veronica Needa, Nili Rolnik, Aviva Apel Rosenthal and more – a privilege.
In 2009 he started working in elderly homes, where he developed a variety of playback theater called De Spel Salon (playing parlour). For elderly people with physical handicaps.
