Post Conference Training, “The Art of Conducting” August 15th – 17th, 10:30-17:30
As Playback Theatre performers, we may come from diverse racial and cultural backgrounds, perspectives, beliefs and disciplines. Is the troupe prepared when the performer’s identities differ significantly from the audience’s? How is this addressed? Creating a bridge between the two resulting in a meaningful relationship is the responsibility of the Conductor. In this training, we’ll explore methodologies the Conductor can use to increase the engagement with the audience. Applying improvisational and drama therapy techniques combined with exercising artistic choices, participants will practice skills to become a more authentic, present and creative conductor.
Prerequisite: Participant must have solid understanding of Playback Theatre supported by Playback performing experience
Post Conference language is English, no interpretation.
