Randy Mulder: Getting prepared for any big moment

Playback Theatre invites performers and audiences alike to move through a transformative process with the story as its foundation.  Like David Christian’s Big History concepts, a Playback Theatre performance goes through stages of thresholds.  What happens when we, as performers, are unprepared to navigate through them?  To invite deep engagement?  To adequately playback the big stories?   In this home group, we will examine these opportunities and the techniques that ensure we are prepared for any big moment.

Randy Mulder is founder and artistic director of Village Playback.  The youngest child within a immigrant family who moved to the United States from Southeast Asia, Randy is proud of his Indonesian roots.  His childhood experiences of difference  profoundly deepened his understanding for racial equality and diversity. His background as a professional musician, actor, choral and theater director greatly enhanced his abilities as a playback practitioner and performing.  Randy is a registered drama therapist and on faculty in the drama departments at The New School in NYC and Kansas State University.
